ATLANTA, GA — April 9, 2025 — Community in Focus is launching its storytelling platform with the premiere of its first short documentary, “Sports for Change”, on May 8, 2025, at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs in Atlanta. The 20-minute film, produced in partnership with Laureus Sport for Good USA, explores how sports can be a powerful tool for youth development and community transformation.
The documentary highlights the work of three Atlanta-based organizations using sport to drive meaningful change:
BlazeSports America – Dedicated to changing the lives of youth and veterans with disabilities through adaptive sports and recreation.
First Tee – Metro Atlanta – Empowering kids through golf, integrating life skills and character-building lessons.
Atlanta Track Club Foundation’s Kilometer Kids – A free, game-based running initiative teaching children goal setting, healthy habits, and community building.
“Atlanta Track Club established its Kilometer Kids program in 2007 because we believe sport plays a vital role in the physical, mental, social, and emotional development of children,” said Rich Kenah, CEO of Atlanta Track Club. “The support of Laureus and its Sport for Good program not only reinforces that belief — it enables us to broaden our reach and deepen our impact on Atlanta’s next generation.”
Event Highlights

Panel Discussion – Post-screening Q&A with leaders from the featured nonprofits
